what to expect Wamego, KS
Dr. Fox will review your current condition and evaluate the effectiveness of your last treatment.  Once again, proper communication is an extremely important aspect of your care.  Your treatment plan will be determined by the severity of your condition, your response to the care provided, and your desire to receive the additional care as needed.

As you show progress, Dr. Fox will explain the different phases of healing and the different treatment plans available for each of these phases.  He will then help you chooose the best plan for you, based on your desire to receive the care you need.

There are 3 Phases of the healing process.

Chiropractic care is like building a house – certain things must happen in a particular order for everything to stand strong and correctly.  When building a house, if you try to put up your walls before you have a solid foundation, your walls will be weak and eventually collapse.  If you try to install your roof before the walls are ready, you would run into the same problem.  The same is true for your body.  Your body must go through a particular plan of care to repair itself correctly.  There are three general phases of chiropractic care:

Phase 1: Pain or Symptom Relief Care

If you are in pain or are having other symptoms when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better as soon as possible.  Depending on the severity of your problem, this may be accomplished in one simple treatment.  For more complex problems, this process may take several treatments over several weeks.

Phase 2: Corrective/Stability Care (Optional)

During the corrective care phase, muscles and tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent reinjury or reoccurrence of your symptom(s).  Your spinal alignment also settles into its normal position and holds better.  The Corrective or Stability Care Phase actually starts during the Pain or Symptom Relief Phase.  As your symptoms relieve, the frequency of your treatments will be spread out as needed to test your stability.  The time it takes in this phase of care depends on your overall condition.

Phase 3: Wellness or Maintenance Care (Optional)

Once your symptoms are under control and you are stabilized, regular periodic adjustments are very beneficial in keeping your body functioning as its optimal level.  Depending on your overall condition, your activity level, and your goals, this phase of care normally only requires a quick treatment once every 3 to 8 weeks, depending on your particular needs.
